Is this "middle-class super-mall politics?" A group of protestors gathered at Bangkok's famous Paragon shopping centre yesterday for a noisy protestor against Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat. The premier tried to look calm and unperturbed while lunching with his party's candidate for the Bangkok's governor election next Sunday, Prapat Chongsa-nguan.
He was also greeted with protestors when the premier went for a taping of a chorus to mark the 75th anniversary of Thammasat University.
On Saturday, during his visit to his hometown in the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat, he was the target of a group of protestors. They were all wearing yellow shirts, indicating that they are members of the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) that continues to occupy the compound of the Government House for almost a month now.
Thai politics continues to be fluid, exciting and, yes, confusing.
